Due to the recent announcement of the departure of Troy “Aether” Hewitt from Carbine to take care of his family, we here at Wildstar Radio want to send him off properly. We had the immense pleasure of meeting him at the Arkship event in February, as well as having him as a featured dev on our Starshine column. Because he is such an awesome guy, each of the writers/cohosts in our team wanted to write personal farewells.

Troy, my best wishes to you and your family. It was such a joy to meet you and work with you a little bit during this last year. Your awesome sense of humor and wonderful commitment to the game, Carbine and the Wildstar community has been truly inspiring. Thanks so very much for all your hard work and dedication. You will be missed more than you can know. Take care, my friend.

Troy, I wish you the very best.  While I am very sad you are leaving Carbine, you are leaving for all the right reasons!   You have done an amazing job for the Wildstar Community.   Your departure will be felt for a very long time.   Thank you!  <3   Best wishes and don’t be a stranger!

Joe

It’s been too short a time, but it was a heck of a time. You brought the fun with you, even when the topics were dry, and you made a newb like me feel welcome and included. I’m truly appreciative of your work and am sorry to see you go, even though we all know that you’re making the right decision. I wish you well, and hope that we get to cross paths again.

Drew

Troy, you are an awesome community manager, and an even more awesome person. I remember when I first met you at Arkship, and you were so welcoming and excited to have us. That excitement was infectious. I have such great respect for your decision to choose your family over your career, and I wish you the best in everything you do going forward. Keep in touch man, and I’ll see you on Nexus.

And just when you thought I’d forgotten…  Ta da! I’m back with another fabulous interview! When I was at Arkship in February, I had the pleasure of meeting a lot of the Carbine folks. They are some of the most awesome people you’d ever hope to hang out with. Troy Hewitt is no exception and I was impressed with his enthusiasm and genuine interest in what the players think and want. Having a responsive production team is so going to be the icing on the cake that is Wildstar!

About Troy Hewitt
