The Fourth Wall: The Dominion, the Galactic Empire

The Dominion is a vicious empire that will stop at nothing to achieve its staunch goal of complete galactic conquest. This is simply because the Eldan told them to do it. The Cassians were gifted advanced technology and a race of protectors, the Mechari, to guide them on a heavy burden placed on them. “Become the rulers of the galaxy, it’s your destiny.” That was the message, and they heard it loud and clear.

The entirety that is Wildstar is focused around this mission. Without it, we would not be on Nexus, there would be no Exiles and there would certainly be no Dominion. Let’s dive right into this Galactic Empire and its vast collective of races.

I have to be honest. I wasn’t really all that excited about the Exiles when the original 3 races were introduced. Humans have always been pretty boring to me, the Granok seemed like a power race that I am not usually about, and the Aurin…well…bunny people? Meh. Not my cup of tea.

Then the Mordesh were introduced and everything changed. I dove into Exile Lore and found myself writing out character ideas and backstories. The Exiles are a scrappy bunch and deserve so much praise for being not only a clever bunch, but also for still being alive when the Dominion seems to have a limitless amount of soldiers and resources to squash them at every stop in the road. Today we’ll be going into detail about the Exiles and each race of this patchwork faction.

With people finally starting to ding at 50 and the basic lore of both factions and Nexus becoming common knowledge, the RP community is finally starting to ramp up. First timers to the community are ready to spread their wings and start public interaction or even apply to some of the many RP guilds that have popped up. As we’ve already gone over the Do’s of building a character, there are some lines that are important to keep in mind when both creating your new toons and interacting with others. While role-playing is a sandbox for everyone, especially in a world like Wildstar, it is still vital to know the ‘Do-Not’s’ that will help you have strong, fun, and interesting characters. So lets dive right in:

You’ve finally logged into Nexus and have your character . Now it’s finally time to settle down and start figuring out what you want to do on Nexus. Do you want to progression raid and pray you get an artifact weapon? Will you want to focus more on PvP and be the ruler of Warplots? Perhaps mastering a tradeskill and ruling the economy with some of the best crafted items this side of Nexus. Or maybe, just maybe, you want to join an RP guild and interact with other players on an entirely different level.

I recently changed my goals in Wildstar for my main character to include the Scientist path. For those who don’t know what the Scientist is, you should check out the post Torvox did a few weeks ago, called “Which Path Will You Take?“.

The Scientist path, along with the Settler path, has not been talked about very much. We know a few things, but in general, the gameplay is left up to our imagination. For this reason, I was initially planning to go Soldier, seeing as I had actually tried this path at Arkship and liked it.

As I considered my decision, with the new information about the housing system that made me want to create a lab, I realized that I would really prefer to roleplay a Scientist, as that is what I am in real life (well, grad student in chemistry anyway). So here is my backstory, written in true Scientific fashion. I hope you like this little dive into roleplay. What is your character’s backstory?
