|This week Carla, Drew, and Seamus bid farewell to Joe, but only after discussing MMO designs that addict, open beta, name reservation, subscription fee justification, and more!|
Welcome to WildStar Radio, episode #32 recorded Sunday, December 8th, 2013. In this weeks episode, your intrepid hosts Carla, Joe, and Drew are joined by Medley, Joe’s Australian Shepard… at some inappropriately hilarious times.
The hosts certify that no animals were actually harmed in the making of this podcast, though one was CLEARLY disgruntled about the content.
When I heard that the first Devspeak for the Epic Class Drop was the Warrior, I was a little disappointed. My least favorite of the original four classes, the Warrior was going to be interesting enough to examine, if only to learn the format for the upcoming classes. But all in all, I expected it to be boring.
Boy, was I wrong.
Hidden in the disclaimer was a series of seven clues (really eight actually), all very convoluted. I am going to map out the epic journey that the community took to get to the epic conclusion. To be clear, I did not solve these all. In fact, by the time I got around to going on Wildstar Central, I found out that the only ones I solved on my own, the community had already solved. Credit goes to the amazing people on Wildstar Central and the Wildstar Subreddit.
Taking this one frame at a time, I will explain the meaning behind each of them, and we will look at the final reward!
A new post was put on the Wildstar website today, and it is one that promises lots of future information. It is starting a series of videos called DevSpeak. We saw the first one a few weeks ago on Housing, and today they put one up on Movement.
As is usual, they started with a few frames of their Easter Egged disclaimers. They were, as usual, hilarious. Particularly funny is the URL they told people to go to in the last frame of the disclaimer, which you can actually follow. As a reminder it is dft dot ba slash dash, and then the first word of each of the first three paragraphs of the M30 patch notes post. So a little something like this dft.ba/-leaksthissure. I kid you not, this was the actual link mentioned, and it was their prank, not mine.
Also mentioned in the video are “serious” things like their different kinds of movement. They mentioned the usual WASD, mouse turning, and jumping. They then added double jump, rolling, and sprint, which by the way can be used while jumping. Jumping puzzles will be so much more fun with so many options!
In short, go and check out the video. It is pretty funny, informative, and exciting all at the same time.
